INTRAMUROS TOUR

"Buti pa ng biglaang lakad natutuloy". It was a boring day and we can't even concentrate on the review because of the boring lecturer we have so after our lunch break at the review center we decided not go back on the review proper. We watched the 15 peso movie entitled "Fast and Furious 4" with my buddies jeric, itong, rizza and dong.  It was my first time to watch at 15 peso movie and the cinema was full and we had a hard time finding seats. After the movie we decided to go the Intramuros for a tour. Before we reached the spot we have to walk a mile just to go there. Our first destination: Manila Cathedral.

Second destination: Intramuros: Fort Santiago
Intramuros, located along the southern bank of the Pasig River, was built by the Spaniardsin the 16th century and is the oldest district of the city of Manila, the capital of thePhilippines. Its name, in Spanish, intramuros, literally "within the walls", meaning within the wall enclosure of the city/fortress, also describes its structure as it is surrounded by thick, high walls and moats

For almost four centuries, the Walled City of Intramuros was the seat of Spanish colonial rule in the East and was the center of commerce, education, government and religion. With World War II, however, Intramuros lost its old grandeur and glory.
The post-war years were witness to the gradual neglect of Intramuros. It became a den of squatters and warehouses. Cargo trucks passed through the old streets, parking their container vans at vacant lots. Weeds and other growth filled the cracks in the walls, leading to further deterioration.
